In previous Conferences and Spring Seminars, the Japan HPH Network has focused on the themes such as practice and advocacy on poverty treatment and clinical study of SDH, learning the leading examples of SDH improvement efforts by Canadian family doctors. This time, the Conference set its purpose on learning and discussion on organizational approaches and challenges that hospitals and medical institutions can implement as they work for improvement of SDH.
Dr. Joshua TEPPER, Director of North York General Hospital and opinion leader in promoting quality of healthcare in Canada, was invited to give the keynote lecture on equitable healthcare quality. The lecture was enlightening that by incorporating the perspectives of “Equity” into healthcare quality, more Japanese medial institutions could initiate efforts to improve SDH.
Special lecture was given by Prof. YUASA Motonari, Professor, Global Health Service Area, Faculty of International Liberal Arts, Juntendo University, on the theme of “International Cooperation and Health Promotion – Delivering Good Examples from Japan to the World”.
