Event Overview:
The environmental pollution caused by organic fluorine compounds, PFAS, has become a significant social issue in various regions. Evidence on the health toxicity of PFAS is accumulating, necessitating urgent problem-solving. The PFAS issue is one of the SDH (Social Determinants of Health) and can be considered as a new health promotion challenge for HPH.
This seminar featured a lecture by Mr. Akio Koizumi (Professor Emeritus at Kyoto University and Director of the Institute for Social Health Medicine and Welfare Laboratory, Kyoto-Hokenkai(Public health association)) entitled “Environmental Issues and Health Promotion, Focusing on the PFAS Issue”. Additionally, three workshops were also held.
